Why Choose My-Prompt?

With so many excellent apps to choose from, you may wonder what sets My-Prompt apart.  My-Prompt has been developed by industry experts with decades of experience in neurodivergence and mental health, with particular specialism in ADHD and ASC.

My-Prompt’s features are supported by gold-standard research into executive dysfunction.  It is a comprehensive resources orientated package with a simple design and functionality to avoid overwhelm.

Students will be able to use the tool for assistance with planning, prioritising, time management, motivation, focusing, memory and wellbeing.

Quite simply, My-Prompt is a one-stop shop for Executive Function.

Apprentice Feedback

My-Prompt’s features are not just informed by gold-standard research.  The tool has also been shaped from years of feedback from neurodiverse students. Some of our most effective support strategies feature within the different app zones.

My-Prompt has also been shaped from feedback from our students about what they find useful in their assistive technology, and what has not been as useful.

“I don’t want to use assistive technology when I have to put more into it than I get out of it.”

This has resulted in a web and mobile app that are simple in design and functionality .

One distinct aspect of the tool is how it channels positivity.  Students can choose to be supported and encouraged by the My-Prompt chick (which they can opt to replace with a help symbol).  The app has self-awarded points and rewards for task completion and a success timeline to display achievements.  Push notifications can be selected to be delivered throughout the day, providing positive affirmations and words of encouragement.

Supporting Apprentices with Executive Function

A popular feature of My-Prompt is our library of skills and wellbeing videos. Students with ED are often overwhelmed by written content due to difficulties with processing, working memory and concentration.  Our videos avoid this by delivering support and guidance through multisensory content, using language and phrasing that are unambiguous and delivered in ‘short-bursts’.  The videos are designed specifically to be low stimulation, visually appealing, accessible and optimal for an impaired attention span.

Topics cover areas such as reading and writing strategies, managing anxiety and sustaining behaviour change. New wellbeing and skills videos are released every month so students can build their own bespoke range of topics.

Students can also receive regular skills suggestions through our push notifications: “Are you having difficulty concentrating due to intrusive thoughts? Use your My-Prompt thought-store to note down thoughts that you can return to later in the day.”

“I usually loathe assistive tech as it’s never as good as it’s supposed to be. This was different. It was actually helpful and easy to use.”

“My-prompt is not clunky and doesn’t require multiple apps or software to access different bits of support. It exists all in one place”

My Memory

One of the most popular features of My-Prompt is our solution to impaired working memory where students can utilise voice recognition to request reminders.  This will remove the anxiety that stems from forgetfulness and will help our students to stay on task as they will no longer have to act on every thought that presents.  Instead, they can ask My-Prompt to remind them of what they need to do at a chosen time.

The My Memory zone contains tools to assist the transfer of important information to long term memory, such as the study sets feature, which aids consolidation via multi-sensory techniques and mnemonic systems.  The zone also contains voice notes, sticky notes and reminders to help students to quickly record information and reminders.  Having a variety of multisensory means to record and organise information according to individual preference will reduce cognitive overwhelm experienced by students with ED.
